NC Second Chance Month 2026 Recap

April may be coming to a close, but the momentum behind NC Second Chance Month at LINC is anything but seasonal.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve elevated the voices of justice-involved individuals, shared powerful stories of transformation, and engaged our community in meaningful conversations about reentry, opportunity, and dignity.
From storytelling initiatives and public awareness campaigns to direct support for participants navigating housing, employment, and education, April has been a reminder of what’s possible when people are given a real second chance—and the right support to make it stick.
But the truth is, reentry doesn’t operate on a calendar. The barriers individuals face after incarceration—employment gaps, housing instability, limited access to healthcare and education—don’t disappear on May 1. They require consistent, comprehensive support.
That’s why LINC’s work continues every day of the year. Second chances aren’t a moment—they’re a commitment. And we remain dedicated to walking alongside the individuals we serve long after the spotlight of April fades.
