Unite Us: An Interview with Michelle Gunn

In observance of October Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Unite Us invited LINC’s Michelle Gunn to talk about coordinated care and how the Unite Us technology platform facilitates supporting LINC clients.

“My commitment to addressing IPV stems from a desire to provide others with the same opportunities I was fortunate to receive—hope, support, and the chance to rebuild after trauma. Access to vital resources drives my efforts to guide individuals on their healing journeys,” Michelle shared.

Read the article, “Strength in Numbers: Supporting IPV Survivors Through Community Partnerships.”

Learning Opportunity: Duke Law and LINC

Frankie Roberts spoke with ten Duke Law students about the work LINC, Inc. is doing in the community.

The students were in Wilmington working on expunction cases with the Legal Aid of North Carolina Second Chance Wilmington project. Students expressed inspiration, hope, and a sense of purpose after the presentation.

Items of Note | Announcements and Updates

  • Telesa Jones, LINC Justice Services Coordinator, is working with Duke Law School Pro Bono Unit on an expunction project, with the goal of opening 30 expunction cases for Individuals in New Hanover County.
  • Incoming LINC Board member Cory Wrisborne is spearheading an initiative to provide new suits for participants in L.I.T.E. Manhood, as an acknowledgement of their successes in the program. If you would like to support this project, contact Anne Rose, Director of Development.

Why bother to go to the polls? Your vote matters. LINC’s Justice Journal offers a short presentation on the impact of voting, which you are invited to download and share.
