Items of Note | Announcements and Updates

We were proud to participate in the public meeting on programs and strategies implemented locally with funding support from the National Opioid Settlement and the county’s Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Fund.
LINC’s Urban Farm celebrated the start of the fall growing season with an Open Farm evening. Visitors toured the grounds and admired pumpkins painted for the season by MER residents. Many thanks to Farmers Supply Co for all our little fall vegetable starts!

LINC Receives NHC ABC Board grant
We’re incredibly grateful to the New Hanover County ABC Board for its generous $78,000 grant to expand opportunity through Peer Support Specialist and Community Health Worker training and certification.
This investment does more than fund training—it equips participants with valuable, in-demand professional skills that lead to meaningful employment, financial stability, and careers centered on helping others. As certified Peer Support Specialists and Community Health Workers, graduates will use their own lived experiences to guide individuals through recovery, successful reentry, and healthier futures.
The impact reaches far beyond each participant. Every person who earns a certification is empowered to become a trusted mentor, advocate, and source of hope for others facing similar challenges. Together, we’re building stronger careers, stronger families, and a stronger community. Thank you, New Hanover County ABC Board, for believing in second chances and investing in lasting change.
