Looking for a Virtual Learning Solution?

LINC, Inc. and L.I.T.E. are offering a full-time alternative classroom setting for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.

The alternative classroom will offer a positive and welcoming space for students to participate in New Hanover County’s virtual learning program.

What: L.I.T.E. SchoolZone Alternative Classroom

Who: 6th, 7th, and 8th graders enrolled in New Hanover County Public Schools

Where: 801 Princess Street, Wilmington NC

When: starting Monday, August 24, 2020, 9:00am to 3:30, five days a week, and running until there is a reasonable alternative for returning to a regular classroom

Cost: $50 a week, per student

The weekly fee is all-inclusive. Each student will be provided with:

  • Workstation
  • Laptop
  • unlimited WIFI
  • Supportive classwork assistance
  • Face masks and sanitizer
  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks

Students will be supervised by three volunteer LINC, Inc. staff. With parental permission, SchoolZone volunteers will be able to interact with teachers to help support our students. Social distancing will be maintained at all times, and face masks will be required.

Space is limited to ten students. We will maintain a waiting list in the event that response outpaces the number of spaces available.

Please apply online using the SchoolZone form. Application deadline is Friday, August 21. Payment of $50 is required on the first day of class, and then weekly, every Monday.
